Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated individual for the position of Solution Architect to join the High Performance Computing product. Someone who influences their own development pursues interests across functions and geographies and understands that a job title is not the final definition of who you are, but a starting point. The High Performance Computing product provides compute on demand for scientific workloads, batch processing and visualization. It supports large scale computational chemistry, High Volume CryoEM data processing, Large Scale Omics Data processing, Machine Learning, etc.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Designing solutions according to enterprise and Science & Research Domain standards and recommendations

  • Verify the technical feasibility of choosing COTS

  • Architecture review of currently existing solutions to ensure continuous improvement and technical debt management

  • Align solutions with business domain boundaries and goals

  • Research the current and emerging technologies and propose changes within the product line

  • Provide technical oversight and support across the product line to innovate products

  • Support product managers in identifying use cases to experiment, learn, and expand solutions

  • Partner with Product Managers to establish high-level solution intent to showcase product value for stakeholders

  • Build a common understanding of the business domain among tech lead and development teams

  • Facilitate technical and architectural discussions among tech leads and architects inside the Product Line

  • Focus on socio-technical architecture to make the development efficient

We need a passionate person who has:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years of relevant experience (platform development, infrastructure administration, integration, architecture design)

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in the following areas/technologies are highly valued:

    • HPC scheduler knowledge such as LSF, Slurm or Gridengine

    • Knowledge of HPC cluster build and management tools

    • DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Ansible, Terraform)

    • Cloud technologies, infrastructure/platform as a service, AWS, Google, Azure

    • Virtualization and containerisation awareness

    • Good all round Linux skills

  • Experience working in agile teams (e.g. SAFe/Scrum)

  • Experience operating in regulated environments is a plus

  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills with a proven ability to lead and inspire

  • Analytical, logical problem-resolution skills

  • Experience in working in a multicultural and international environment

  • Advanced English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills

Location:

We offer a hybrid model with a lot of flexibility between the Madrid office and the home office. Other location available: Sant Cugat (Barcelona), Mississauga, Poznan and Warsaw
