Job Description

As a Senior JavaScript Developer, you will be responsible for the development of web and mobile solutions for our continuously evolving platform. You will work closely with Designers, UX Specialists and other Technical Developers. You’ll strive for the best possible solutions and ensure we consistently deliver high-quality code. Your work will include implementing logic to connect to our services, executing compatibility and performance testing as well as translating new features to HTML/CSS. Sometimes it will involve making coffee for the team and/or selecting the best whiskeys for the CTO's birthday.

You will be responsible for the development, design, user interface, technology integration and site architecture for all features and aspects of the loots platform. When you screw something up you'll work with the rest of the team to fix it and then you will get busy guaranteeing the same problem doesn't happen again.

You should be good at what you do, and willing to share your knowledge with the rest of the team. You should also be good at listening to others, and should show respect for their knowledge and experience.

Key Responsibilities

Demonstrate expert level proficiency in one or more of the following: NodeJS, JavaScript, MongoDB, Redis, RabbitMQ. Serve as a technical advisor and problem solver to the development team to assist in optimizing our platform to successfully define, build and deploy our applications. Establish measurable criteria concerning deliverability, performance, maintenance, design and effort.

Role Requirements

  • 5+ years development experience, especially on enterprise-level mobile/responsive website projects.
  • Development experience with HTML5/CSS/CSS3, JavaScript, OOP/Design Patterns and MongoDB.
  • Strong understanding of source control (we're not talking about Subversion) and front-end build tools.
  • Ability to solve complex group dynamic situations when selecting a lunch location
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React.js and Vue.js - or at least an opion as to why you don't want to use them
  • Strong understanding of performance and optimisation, best practices and industry standards.
  • Excellent written (English) and verbal (English and/or German) communication skills, are essential
