We produce and maintain an enterprise-grade platform, enabling banks and multinationals to handle risks more efficiently and onboard customers, suppliers and partners. Our partners include global top-10 banks, big four advisory firms and large multinationals.
We're currently looking for a Senior Front-end Engineer; you’ll help us design and deliver cool new features that will be used by big customers all over the world, take the lead and drive improvements for our platform making testing and future changes easy, and continuously learn and improve as new challenges arise.
We predominantly develop using React, Python, Django, and Docker. Our infrastructure is backed by Kubernetes, Hadoop, ElasticSearch, Terraform, and Amazon Web Services.
What’s different about us?
In short, you get all the advantages of a startup (super fun teams, immediate impact, collaborative learning environment, some greenfield projects, free snacks / beers / coffee / prosecco, and contribution to company strategy)...but with the stability, predictability, and work-life balance that come from steady growth.
Requirements:
- 4+ years web development
- Strong knowledge in native JavaScript
- At least 2 years of professional experience with React.js and good understanding of best practices
- Unit tests
- Webpack / Babel
Experience with fullstack or backend engineering, CI / CD processes, TypeScript, GraphQL building Chrome extensions, and Docker preferred, but not required.
As successful candidate, you will also:
- Have a bias for action, because speed and quality both count
- Like seeing things through to completion, and take responsibility for the quality of your work
- Be customer obsessed, taking the time to understand why the customer requires what they’re asking for, and empathise with their issues
- Earn the trust of others through being open-minded, listening, and by being willing to examine your strongest convictions with humility
- Be able to disagree and commit—respectfully challenging decisions when you disagree but committing wholly to finalised decision even if you still disagree
- Be unafraid to get into the details with unfamiliar technologies
- Interact cohesively with the wider team.
What hard problems are we solving?
- High frequency media monitoring with Big Data
- Entity matching, and scoring across both structured, and unstructured data
- Structured, and semi-automated data extraction from complex web pages
- A multi-purpose Chrome extension to seamlessly automate complex data collection processes
- Distributed, highly-available process automation framework
- A plug-n-play platform to ease the codification, and hence, the automation / structuring of repetitive business processes
Benefits and Culture
- Great collaborative environment. Everyone wants to improve and get better at coding.
- Weekly training sessions where one of the team presents a new technology, or we watch a video talk given by an expert and follow it with a group discussion.
- Micro-rewards bonus system, redeemable for haircuts, spotify memberships, massages and much more.
- We’ve got great infrastructure for working from home when required, so you can wait in for that parcel.
- We never run out of snacks—healthy or otherwise, coffee, juices or craft beer. Whether you prefer wasabi peas or hula hoops, IPA or prosecco, we’ve got you covered.
- We’re small enough that everyone knows everyone, and big enough that whatever your interests, some of us will share them; you can join our whisk[e]y club, yoga classes, football chat, video / board game sessions, and podcast club, or start something we haven’t thought of yet!
Closing date for applications: 30th June 2019
