The
Online Marketing Data & Technology team at Vistaprint is looking
for an R or Python developer with experience in Data Science / Machine
Learning. We are passionate about data, automation, API’s, statistical
models, technology and innovation. We are responsible for building R or
Python scripts which can solve complex use cases by dealing with big
amounts of data and being able to communicate with other platforms via
API’s or other web services. Our main internal clients are the Search
Engine Marketing and the Display Advertising teams, which are among the
top Google, Facebook and Microsoft Bing customers in spend.
By joining our team, you will be
spending most of the time on data manipulation (pulling new data
sources, merging data, building dashboards, …) and on building scripts
for intelligent task automation (which might involve machine learning).
You will spend around 20% of the time working on Machine Learning
related projects.
Your role will involve:
- Learning and practicing new tools in an ambitious technical
environment that combines both hacking skills, web technologies and
real-time data;
- Supporting the online marketing channels through automation of
tasks, processes and best practices by building R/Python scripts. For
example, picking the best adgroup for a keyword, automating tasks
through browser automation (we do often use Selenium), sending email
alerts when certain conditions are met, etc;
- Locating,
accessing and merging data from different data sources via API’s or web
services. You will leverage Google, Bing, Facebook and other partners’
API libraries and our Big Data stack via R/Python, so as to extract
relevant data and transform these into opportunities;
- Enriching our marketing data stack by using Cloud capabilities such
as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform. For example, building a
process to import daily data coming from Facebook or Google Ads while
making sure the data is accurate;
- Utilizing data science & machine learning to automate and
optimize marketing campaigns and processes. Machine learning projects do
include for example bidding optimization (across platforms,
geographies, channels, audiences, devices, campaigns), marketing
segmentation/audience creation, attribution models, forecasting weekly
spend/revenue, predicting the value of ad-clicks, etc;
- Developing tools & reports to enable effective monitoring and automated alerting;
- Building predictive models to channel opportunities across different geographies and products;
- Working closely with Analytics, Business Intelligence &
Developer teams to further enhance our data platform and the most
impactful prototypes.
Requirements:
- University degree in Statistics, Mathematics or Physics (a PhD is a plus);
- Knowledge of R and/or Python;
- Basic knowledge of SQL;
- Proven experience in Data Science / Machine learning, in particular
with Bayesian statistics – either in the business or the academic
environment.
Considered as a plus:
We will value any previous work experience and some background in:
- data.table package in R or pandas in Python;
- Google Ads, Search Engine Marketing or Display Advertising;
- Big Data and cloud technologies (any of Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, AWS);
- Google Ads and Facebook API’s;
- Data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau);
- Google Analytics / website analytics platforms.
What it is for you:
- Initial training period where you will learn our data & technology infrastructure, tools and business needs;
- Learning by doing,
large autonomy, continuous development opportunities, great colleagues
and teammates, working on projects that can have a real impact on
decisions & results;
- Great compensation package and comprehensive benefits;
- Flexible working hours;
- Free food, drinks, fresh fruit;
- And more!
If the above sounds interesting to you don’t hesitate to apply (using a resume in English), we look forward to hearing from you!
