Core Skills And Experience We Are Looking For
Front end - you should be comfortable writing plain javascript as well as having experience working with modern frameworks.
Back end - you have significant experience with a
few server-side languages, such as Python, Ruby, Node, Java or PHP and
know what their strengths and weaknesses are.
Database - you have a solid
understanding of SQL and have good working knowledge of at least one of
the mainline databases (Postgresql, MySql).
General - you are comfortable using git
and the command line, and have seen the benefits of working in a
continuous integration / deployment environment.
Bonus Skills And Experience
Front end - you have worked
with modern modular CSS architectures and have used some of the current
front end tools. Angular, Less & Gulp.
Back end - you have in-depth experience with Python and Django.
Database - from the experiences you have
had, you know the pros and cons of SQL v NoSQL databases. You know how
and when to use Redis, Elasticsearch, Cassandra or a RDMS.
General - you have dockerize apps and have been involved in moving from a monolithic application to microservices.
