Citymapper is looking for
Android developers to join our small team. We work hard to make moving
around the city straightforward, beautiful, and fun. Our Android app has won several awards including Google's Editor's Choice, and we've been featured in Google I/O keynotes.
Not
only that, but we have several new mobile projects in the works for
2016, and you have a chance to help us build and architect these from
the ground up. For instance, BATMOBILE is the codename of our new mobile
data-gathering app, to make it easy to improve our information out in
the field, including recording locations and timings. And there are more
to follow.
As an Android developer at Citymapper you'll get
to shape the future of our mobile apps. You'll be working with our
designers to develop new features for the apps, finding ways to improve
and streamline existing interactions, and making things as fast, stable,
and efficient as possible. You'll have an opportunity to work with new
technologies like Android Wear and Activity Recognition.
Things we like to see:
- Dedication. The
desire to create a product that makes people's day, every day. You have
(or can develop) a passion for public transportation and urban
infrastructure.
- Expertise. You should have a
good knowledge of the state of the Android world, and strong opinions
about the future of Android development. Your aim is to develop clean
architecture and testable code, while understanding when to ship.
- Experience.
You are proud to showcase your past work, and want to tell us how it
works underneath. You have learned lessons about what does and does not
work when building a team, and can apply that knowledge.
- Design Focus.
You work well with design & product experts to get the UI right,
and can communicate well across teams. You have an eye for design, and
want to delight users with animations and details
- You know how "Nougat" is pronounced. We're still not sure.
Requirements
We're looking for someone who has shipped at least one excellent mobile app.
