Job Description

Farm Heroes Saga is one of King's biggest and most cherished game titles. We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Artist to join our team based in Stockholm, Berlin, London or Barcelona.

You will be part of a dynamic core team of technical artists and programmers, working on improving and supporting King’s game Farm Hero Saga. As a technical artist, you will be a key member of the group, helping solve problems, design and optimize features and workflows, create shaders, build tools, support content creators and push boundaries.

You will also be part of the wider Technical Art Community at King, a unique environment where we share and support each other to achieve our full potential. At King, we value our personal growth very highly.

Your role within our Kingdom

  • Help develop the artwork, tools, techniques and pipeline for the products.

  • Help mentor more junior members of the team.

  • Work with the team to analyze the visual requirements and priorities of projects and provide effective solutions, engaging in collective responsibility for maintaining a high- quality product.

  • Our product is live and is doing new releases often. Part of our passion is to make sure our product is at the top in tech and art. You will be part of the process to make updates ensuring the product release cycle.

  • Support artists in their daily tasks, keep documentation up to date, create tutorials and workshops.

Skills to Create thrills

  • Familiarity with game engine workflows and a good understanding of real- time rendering processes and pipelines (experience with GLSL/HLSL)

  • Good scripting ability (e.g. Python, Javascript)

  • Proactive finding tasks, taking ownership of them, finding solutions and driving them to completion.

  • A proactive communicator, willing to give and receive constructive feedback

  • Proven track record of both artistic and technical creativity with a real passion for solving problems and optimizing games content for memory and performance

  • Good knowledge of one major 3D and/or animation software packages (Maya, Blender, Spine preferred)

  • Good knowledge of 2D creation software (Photoshop, Illustrator)

  • Desire to push visual quality or streamline workflows

  • Experience in crafting various game content (animations/modeling/etc)

An online portfolio demonstrating all aspects of your skills would be appreciated.

Tasty Bonus Skills

  • Experience with custom game engines

  • Experienced in working in an Agile / Scrum environment

  • Knowledge of typical development languages (C++, C#, Rust)
