Android and iOS Developer

Madrid - 4 days in the office

ROLE:

This new role within the Ebury Technology team presents a unique opportunity to shape our Android Mobile app from its inception.

As an early-stage project, you’ll have the chance to craft a ground-breaking mobile experience with genuine ownership, building Ebury's mobile presence from its foundation.

You’ll work with industry standard tools and technologies - and help us define what great looks like for our mobile apps.

As an Mobile engineer you'll work in a small, autonomous product squad alongside Backend Engineers, API Engineers, Product Designers and Product Managers.

You'll report to an engineering manager who will meet with you every week for a 1:1, their mission is to help you develop and grow.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for supporting the overall company and Digital goals. Everything we do has a purpose and helps our business prosper. Rather than building a specific feature you'll have the opportunity to have impact on both what we build, and how we build it.
  • Ownership of the existing Android and iOS app code base, with autonomy to improve what’s already there.
  • Management and coaching of a junior developer.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to test hypotheses and make a difference to customers through the delivery and iteration of new app functionality and experiences.
  • Stay up to speed on the latest mobile development practices, tools and frameworks
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
  • Help maintain code quality, organisation, and automatization.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • (+7 years) Proven working experience in software development, with a significant portfolio of released applications on both Android and iOS platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.
  • Proficient with Swift and familiar with UIKit, as well as Cocoa Touch.
  • Experience using Combine architecture.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android/iOS applications to back-end services.
  • Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards.
  • Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and Apple's Human Interface Guidelines.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
  • Quality is important to us, we expect your code to be testable and well covered with unit and integration tests. We use Bitrise pipelines for the deployment of services and infrastructure. From time to time, you might need to contribute to it.
  • You have experience of working on scalable apps that see spikes in traffic / user sign-up
  • Analysing and optimising UI and infrastructure application code for quality, efficiency, and performance is driven by data and application monitoring.
  • You have a good appreciation of security.
  • Experience of Financial Services and/or FinTech an advantage, working with financial apps.
  • Reviewing other people's code and knowing when to suggest improvements
  • You share your ideas and continuously improve yourself and the team around you
