We are looking for an inspired and motivated Senior Sysadmin who
wants to play a key role in the development of our systems and
infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for the whole platform, from
performance and monitoring to caching, security and everything in the
middle. This role involves building, automating and managing key parts
of our runtime environment. You will lead a I&O team and will be
expected to act as an I&O knowledge resource for the entire company,
helping others understand the architectures and platforms underlying
their features.
We use AWS, Linux, Ansible, MySQL,
PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Docker, PHP, Java, Jenkins and many many more
and we are always looking for the best tool for the job.
The main responsibilities of that role will be
● Work closely with the VP of Engineering to determine and develop the ABA English technical strategy.
● Work closely with the VP of Engineering to establish the company’s technical vision.
● Work closely with the VP of Engineering to lead all aspects of the company’s technological. development.
● Lead the infrastructure and operations team.
● Ensure the operational stability, security, and efficiency of our platform and infrastructure.
● Ensure that the systems design and architecture is aligned with business strategy and requirements.
● Monitor infrastructure and systems health.
●
Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack: networking, data
pipelines, orchestration, deployment pipelines, web and mobile
applications, etc...
● Participate in discussions around software architecture with the development teams.
● Participate in the product definition providing your technical vision.
● Lead and facilitate the building and adoption of new tools and processes to streamline our deployment/rollout processes.
● Lead our way towards Continuous Delivery.
● Mentor your team and serve as a DevOps knowledge resource for the entire tech division.
● Automate, automate, automate and automate.
Background and Skills
● 5+ years of prior system administration experience with 24x7 SaaS products with millions of users.
● The ability to understand SaaS architectures and operations
● 2+ year of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar infrastructure as a service.
● Experience in cloud cost optimization and management.
● Experience with Kubernetes in a production environment.
● Experience as DBA.
● Experience in building CI/CD pipelines.
● Experience with Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or other configuration management software.
● Experience with virtualization and containerization in a production environment.
● Coding experience in at least one programming language (big plus for PHP or JAVA)
● Experience with data pipelines and BI will be a plus
● The ability to work with development teams and communicate clearly to stakeholders.
● Experience in Agile environments.
