Your role  🙋

As an Engineering Director you’ll be leading and growing engineering teams that develop the architecture and infrastructure for Juni ( have a look at ) inspiring great performance and innovation. As one of Juni’s key technical leaders you will be impacting our customers' experience closely collaborating with product and other departments.

Your responsibilities  💪

In this role you’ll:

  • Create and clearly communicate the tech strategy for the Backend, Frontend and Infrastructure platform teams

  • Develop the OKRs and roadmap collaboratively with your teams and take responsibility for their delivery and quality

  • Analyse technology and resource needs to assess the feasibility of projects, and advise on future resourcing needs

  • Structure and scale up the domain actively participating in recruitment in order to support Juni’s product vision

  • Design processes that facilitate optimal workflow and collaboration with other teams

  • Be responsible for the full development lifecycle of the software from testing to monitoring and incident response

  • Establish best practices for cross-team collaboration and software development processes

  • Extend your view to business challenges and bring the voice of the customer to your planning and deliverables

  • Mentor your team leaders to navigate change, grow, build and train best in class teams

  • Create a psychologically safe environment for everyone to be their best

Within 1 month you'll:

  • Do the on-boarding in the company.

  • Participate in the first dynamics of the management crew.

  • Acquire a deeper understanding of our main objectives and challenges to overcome.

  • Do the first 1on1 with your direct reports.

  • Be an active agent in the recruitment strategy

  • Proactively get to know your colleagues.

Within 3 months you'll:

  • Have found your workspace with the other strategic roles and will have been part of the first decisions.

  • Solved your first challenges of coordination, organisation and/or conflicts.

  • Understood, questioned and contributed to the engineering objectives and the metrics used to measure them.

Within 6 months you'll:

  • Have a deep understanding of your role and how to generate the greatest possible impact within Juni.

  • Be leading management initiatives with an impact on all engineering.

  • Be a reference for the team leaders.

  • Have achieved measurable improvements in the productivity of the team

Your qualifications  👨‍🎓

What we need to see:

  • Experience in leadership and team development

  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environment

  • Communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills that enable clarity and trust at all levels with a proven track record of influencing and driving delivery across multiple partners. Comfortable managing constructive debate, and willingness to challenge the status quo

  • Experience developing scalable, high performance backend and frontend applications using a variety of technologies including cloud native ones

  • Up to date knowledge of Development standards, development methodologies, technical trends and innovations in the industry

  • Experience in a regulated environment and how this impacts engineering decisions

  • Experience scaling up teams in a startup ecosystem

  • Facilitating change while bringing teams along the journey
