The ideal Data Scientist will mine data from audiences and conversations, design algorithms, and develop models which improve Audiense’s insights platform. The right person for this role will enjoy designing high-performance models, and developing robust code that scales on live data.
Responsibilities
- Research, invent and prototype new learning algorithms that underpin our core product, which is already used by some of the world’s biggest brands
- Deal with challenging, unresolved data problems applicable to thousands of major enterprises globally.
- Design and implement unsupervised dynamic algorithms to process real-time conversation data.
- Build algorithms to extract insight from our 200TB social media dataset
- Collaborate on key architectural decisions and design considerations
- Work in a multi-disciplined team where you’ll take full ownership of turning discoveries and ideas into machine learning models.
- Actively contribute to taking data science at Audiense to the next level
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics & Applied Math, Physics, or similar field. Masters or PhD Degree a plus.
- Knowledge in data pre-processing, data cleansing and feature design (extract/build new features).
- Experience in dealing with high performance and real-time scoring/classification requirements.
- Experience in handling large datasets or working with Hadoop, Spark and related tools.
- Able to design, implement, test, and explain statistical algorithms and core machine-learning concepts.
- Experience with diving into data, finding insights, and presenting them.
- Exercise good judgment about which tools to use and when to use them.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases. PostgreSQL and/or MySQL is a plus.
- Experience with NoSQL. MongoDB is a plus.
- A good working knowledge of statistics and machine learning algorithms, especially in the NLP and graph space
- Prior experience with a few of the following models: Logistic Regression, Linear Regression, Support Vector Machines, (Deep) Neural Networks, Hidden Markov Models, Conditional Random Fields, and/or Latent Dirichlet Allocation.
- Experience with at least one scripting language, e.g. R, Octave, and one programming language, e.g. Javascript, Python, Perl, C/C++, Java.
- Solid experience working on large-scale, distributed systems.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Advantageous skills:
- An interest in social media and familiarity with the current trends
