About the role
We're
now seeing explosive demand for our services. We need to scale our
startup. Fast. And this is where you come in. We’re looking for an
Android Support Engineer to work within our highly experienced team to
expand our SaaS platform in an innovative and fast-paced Agile
environment. The consumer shift to apps is happening right now. Be part
of the app revolution in retail.
What you’ll be doing
- Developing platform/infrastructural services
- Providing high-quality technical support for the Poq platform
- Taking ownership of technical issues and working with our Development group to resolve more advanced issues
- Using
cutting edge technologies in the Android platform to deliver and
stabilise key product features that a million monthly active shoppers
use.
- Introducing best practices around continuous integration and deployment of Android applications
- Documenting troubleshooting and problem resolution steps
- Knowing there’s a better way, balancing today’s work with making improvements for the future.
Requirements
What we’re looking for
- Experience writing clean, maintainable, easy-to-test code using Java.
- Experience working and resolving high priority customer facing tickets
- Proficient in Android Studio, Android SDK and Google compatible libraries.
- At least one app published in the Google Play Store.
- Test Driven Development or Behaviour Driven Development (TDD/BDD) experience (desirable)
- Prior DevOps experience in a cloud based environment
- Experience in ecommerce or retail.
- Degree in Computer Science.
- GitHub source control and Continuous Integration.
- Strong problem solving skills, someone that can see the issues, design and develop solutions that are re-usable
