Ada Health is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Engineering team in Berlin, Germany.
Working
closely with our team of mobile and backend application engineers you
will provide a stable environment for running these applications as well
as creating and improving sophisticated build and deploy operations.
Besides that you will be responsible for continuous integration and
deployment processes as a key part of our change management process, and
be responsible for documenting technical solutions.
Requirements
If you find yourself in the following description, you might be the engineer we’re looking for:
You
are experienced in creating and running stable environments using
Amazon Web Services infrastructure as well as creating and running
Bamboo/Travis deployment projects. Besides that, basic development
experience in web applications and Java applications is a plus. You are
familiar with the configuration of networks and security aspects due to
network topology. Last but not least some basic experience with running
and querying databases is a key requirement. And of course you are
fluent in English, spoken and written. German is a plus too.
Aside
from that, to help you find out how you fit tech-wise, here is a
description of our tech stack so every piece you’re familiar with is a
plus:
- we write our production applications in Java with Spring (Boot, Data, Security), Kotlin and NodeJS
- we build and deploy it with Maven and our CI (Bamboo, Travis) or playbooks by Ansible
- we build and deploy our mobile apps with fastlane and Gradle, and use CodePush for instant updates if possible
- we
store our data in MongoDB and PostgreSQL, a general understanding of
schema design and performant query creation helps as well
- we run it on AWS (EB, EC2, ELB) via Docker
- we use AWS Cloudwatch and Sentry to monitor systems
- we use Terraform to describe our infrastructure as code
Benefits
We
believe in well-rested people doing concentrated and impactful work. We
are in this for the long run. Not a morning person? Need to pick up
your kids from school? Work in flexible hours that fit you and your
personal situation best.
Do you use Google and StackOverflow to
get your work done? So do we. No need to worry about an interview
process that involves balancing a binary search tree on one of our
whiteboards.
