ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:
We're seeking a talented and driven Senior Software Engineer to join the eCommerce Tools team at The Knot. This team develops tools that power and support our Invitations and Registry offerings across multiple brands and are integral to solving user pain points and meeting business goals. The Senior Software Engineer will work with a team of talented engineers, while also working closely with product managers and designers to develop or enhance features.
The Knot is the nation’s leading wedding marketplace, providing couples with a personalized experience that guides them through the entire wedding planning journey. In Invitations, we help couples find and customize wedding invitations that inspire and delight. In Registry, we develop tools for couples to register for gifts, for their guests to buy them, and the back-end systems to make it all happen stress-free.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work directly with engineers, designers, product managers and other product teams to meet shared goals.
- Create scalable, highly available software architectures.
- Actively participate in the ideation and execution of product roadmap and Agile planning.
- Provide mentorship and advice to junior members of the team.
- Promote best practices around software design, testing and architecture.
- Be positive, optimistic, and engaging in a fast paced (occasionally high stress) environment.
SUCCESSFUL SENIOR FULL-STACK DEVELOPER CANDIDATES HAVE:
- 5-10 years of experience working in a full-stack role, preferably at a product company.
- 5+ years working with Node.js.
- 2+ years working with React.js.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Proponent of TDD or other testing methodologies.
- Enjoy working closely with other team members.
- Knowledge of AWS/Cloud architecture components.
- Understand (and are motivated by) explicit KPIs and goals.
