We are looking for a Front end developer to lead our Front end team.
Neural Alpha is a unique data consultancy & software development
company applying innovative Connected Data approaches (graph databases,
semantic & related technologies) to Sustainable Investment &
other complex requirements within the Financial Services industry.
We
help NGOs, financial institutions and investors maximise the
sustainability credentials of their investments – using these
technologies to minimise investments in deforestation, carbon intensive
activities & other areas. Our team is based in Kennington and Warsaw
(Poland) and we are on the search for developers with a passion for
building visually rich and innovative applications which distill the
complexity of addressing sustainable investment challenges.
Our
development stack involves Javascript (React/d3.js) in the front-end,
Node and python in the back-end. Our APIs are written in GraphQL and we
use a variety of NoSQL databases including document stores such as
MongoDB and Elasticsearch and graph databases/triple stores. We are
completely cloud-based on AWS using multiple resources such as Cognito,
EC2, DynamoDB, S3, etc.
The role is a rare and exciting opportunity

Ideally a more experienced candidate will have a Computer
Science background, demonstrable leadership experience and portfolio
pieces illustrating Data Engineering and Data Science skills.
Preferred skills/qualifications:
Collaborative team player who enjoys mentoring as well as learning
Experience developing data visualisations in D3 and other javascript libraries, HTML5, developing responsive apps
Experience of agile methodologies and working with Atlassian tools – e.g. jira
Experience developing in React essential and with advanced React concepts – e.g. React Story Book & React Hooks
Understanding of browser and network performance
Familiar with automated testing libraries
Educational Background in Computer Science or alternative STEM degree useful
2+ years commercial experience essential
Experience developing on AWS essential
Experience of GraphQL very useful
Experience of modern development standards - TDD, CI/CD very useful
