Our Data Science team works across
our many disciplines at ROLI and are instrumental in delivering
actionable insights that drive business and product decisions to improve
user experiences, and ultimately enhance value for ROLI.
As a key member of our growing Data
Team, you will take responsibility for defining and maintaining the
analytics pipeline, building data models, querying data sources, and
visualising information. You will ensure that the knowledge derived from
our data is well researched, accurate, easy to understand and unbiased.
This is a unique opportunity to be a
part of a disruptive category of music making devices we are creating
called ‘Connected Music’ - a network of hardware and software, platform
and developer products that will revolutionise how music is made.
What you’ll do:
- Extract
data from a wide variety of sources, create data assets, models, and
insights within the organisation, and feed them across the business
- Collaborate
with ROLI’s data scientists and analysts to understand and meet
business demands, and contribute positively to the culture of the Data
Science team
- Work closely with software teams to specify, test, and maintain a scalable and robust analytics pipeline
- Conduct data exploration and discovery through custom queries and analyses, ETL and data modeling, and information visualisation
- Stay up to
date with the latest analytics and data science tools and techniques,
and identify how they can be utilised throughout the organization
What you’ll need:
- Proven experience working as a data scientist or data analyst
- Qualification
in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Mathematics,
Statistics, Machine Learning, AI to degree level or with equivalent
industry experience
- Deep understanding of event tracking and analytics landscape (tools such as Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with data visualisation tools or packages (e.g. Tableau, Plotly, Seaborn, D3.js)
- Significant experience with SQL and NoSQL technologies (e.g. BigQuery, MongoDB, Postgres)
- Experience working with cloud-based data architectures such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform
- Programming experience and understanding of ETL processes
- Experience with statistical analyses/machine learning packages in Python or R (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)
- Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the
ability to work effectively with employees at all levels
- An inquisitive mind and demonstrable examples of implementing proactive solutions
- Superb and demonstrable time management skills and the ability to work independently
Bonus points:
- Strong understanding of data algorithms and data models, and software engineering concepts in general
- Knowledge of test design, implementation and evaluation; experience with A/B or multivariate testing
- Experience working within a fast paced startup
- Familiarity with modern music technology and a real passion for audio, design, and technology
