The Role

As a Data Engineer, you will maintain the flow of data between our sources and destinations. Collecting, processing, and storing data as efficiently as possible, allowing the data analysts to present it to the management teams in the best way possible. The team you’ll be involved in is in charge of the whole pipeline, with the main goal of extracting meaning from our data and distributing it in a structured way to all departments, based on their needs, your main responsibilities will be:

• Take ownership of all data processes, from extraction to presentation; manage our data infrastructure, architecture, and designing pipelines & ELT processes following best industry practices

• Attend the Data needs of every area in the company, bridging the gap between the tech team, and the data analysts, providing them with not only what they ask for, but what they need to help other Holded teams thrive

• Collaborate with the data analysts to achieve the goals and contribute to reaching the company goals through data-driven decisions

• Ship medium to large features independently

• Improve, manage, implement and teach standards for code maintainability and performance

About you

• You have 3+ years of work experience in a similar role

• You have a keen eye for identifying operational inefficiencies and information gaps at a global level

• You understand, follow and implement data engineering best practices

• You have experience integrating data in streaming and in batch from multiple sources including DBs, product tracking, and APIs

• You have a deep understanding of SQL and data modeling for analytical data warehouses (we use BigQuery)

• You have professional-level experience using Python, Java, or Scala for data processing and its data-related packages(Python preferred)

• You have a thriving desire to constantly improve product quality, security, and performance

• Google Cloud experience is highly valued

• You are fluent in English
