Mind the Byte, a bioinformatics company specialized in computational drug discovery based on SaaS technology has opened a new position in Barcelona:

Head of software development

We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive person with a great desire to learn and participate in an innovative and growing environment. He/she will be the responsible of software development for Mind the Byte’s SaaS platform.

Tasks / responsibilities

• -  Coordinate the software development of the SaaS platform

• -  Work together with the heads of the scientific areas regarding software development

• -  Lead the integration process of all scientific tools on the SaaS platform

  Requirements

• -  PhD on computational biology, chemistry, physics, or related fields

• -  High profile on software development (Python is a must). Also, high profile in designing

  and building optimised, scalable and reliable applications

• -  Strong understanding of Extreme Programming and Agile Processes in Software Engineering, Test-driven development (TDD), and Scalability testing

• -  Good command of architectural experience using Django, Flask and Flask-REST

• -  Knowledge of both SQL and noSQL databases

• -  Working permit in the EU

• -  Experience in cloud (AWS)/virtualized environments is a plus

• -  Knowledge on continuous integration and project management tools are a plus

• -  Fluent in English (Catalan is a plus)
