Who we're looking for:

Rover seeks a passionate, experienced IT System Administrator to own the entire IT user experience for Rover’s European offices in Barcelona, London and Berlin! This position supports all IT software, hardware and services across Europe.  As IT’s sole team member in Europe, this person will be involved in delivering the IT department’s global initiatives as well as end user support for Rover employees. Rover is transitioning from a smaller US-company to a large, international company and there is a lot of opportunity to create innovative solutions and leading-edge tools.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, has excellent communication and teamwork skills, loves to build scalable technology and has propensity for problem solving.

What does IT look like at Rover?

Rover’s IT environment has very little on-premise hardware. Our strategy is to leverage cloud based services exclusively to ensure maximum scalability, adaptability and security. For all non-SaaS services, we run our own AWS Kubernetes cluster to ensure that we have no servers onsite.  IT constantly strives to deliver the best technology solutions that support Rover’s mission of making it possible for everyone to experience the unconditional love of a pet. Our company and team are growing rapidly, so the ideal candidate will have experience working with tools that are needed during our transition from small to a large organization.

Your Responsibilities:

    • Own the IT Support and Administration of all Rover offices in Europe
    • Build and roll out Solution appropriate tools and drive innovation across the team
    • Implement IT initiatives in all of Rover’s European offices using tools like JAMF, G Suite and Meraki
    • Mentor IT team member’s technical skills
    • Proactively seek out problems and design scalable solutions to rectify those issues
    • Optimize the existing IT environment based on the business’ strategy
    • Resolve end user IT support issues for all of Europe

Your Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
    • 5+ years’ experience in a System Administrator or related role
    • Proficiency in administering SaaS solutions like JAMF, G Suite, MDM etc.
    • Experience managing and troubleshooting MacOS and Apple hardware
    • Outstanding verbal and written English skills
    • Thorough understanding of a large array of IT processes and best practices
    • Superior communication skills with both technical and non-technical team members

Bonus Skills: (We would love to have any of these!)

    • Cisco networking (Meraki specifically would be great)
    • Cloud-based telephony experience
    • G Suite automation and administration expertise
    • Experience with first line support of Zendesk
    • You communicate easily with technical and the non-technical people around the world
