Job Description

At New Relic, we love making tools for software and ops engineers. Our software helps customers answer their most important questions by allowing them to visualize, explore, and reason about their ops, application, and customer data. If this sounds interesting to you, you should apply!

We are looking for full stack or front-end Software Engineers with strong interest and experience in UI engineering who can help take one of our newest products, New Relic Infrastructure, to the next level. This mean working with new technology, a new product, and working with an amazing team.

At New Relic, you will work with some of the best engineers and tackle some of the most complex problems in the industry. As a member of our Barcelona team you will help shape and grow our European development center. We’re a fast growing software company that cares about our culture. We value work/life balance, personal respect, code ownership by engineers, and experimentation. If all this sounds like your dream job, read on:

As the right person for the role:

  • You should be very proficient in JavaScript. We happen to use React, but we value solid JavaScript skills first and foremost.
  • We take testing seriously. Proficiency with UI testing and end-to-end testing is a big plus.
  • You should know CSS, or at least be willing to learn it. We take a component-oriented approach to CSS that is easy to maintain.
  • You should be comfortable working closely with designers and product managers to plan and build UI features. We love UI engineers who have a strong sense of product, user experience, and design.
  • Knowledge of modern build tooling (e.g. webpack, browserify) and modern frameworks (e.g. React) is plus!
  • Interest and experience in backend services, DevOps, and tooling is a plus!
  • You speak fluent English.
  • You have the right to work in Spain (EEA,http://europa.eu/about-eu/countries/).

We utilize many great technologies in our stack (JavaScript, React, Go, Docker, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Kafka), are strong proponents of micro-services, and believe deeply in continuous integration and constantly improving quality, performance, and making software that delights our customers.

Our team is very autonomous; you will be able to influence the product’s direction as well as technical decisions made throughout the team and company.

We offer:

  • Competitive salary
  • Equity compensation plan
  • Performance reviews twice a year
  • Work-life balance and flexible schedule
  • Amazing and fun work environment
  • Private health insurance for you and your family, including dental coverage
  • English and Spanish language classes
  • Office located in the center of Barcelona, very close to public transportation
  • We provide ergonomic furniture (chairs, desks…) to keep you healthy and comfy
  • Fresh fruits, snacks and beverages
  • We support technical meetups, both local and international
  • We help with relocation

To fast track your application, let us know in your cover letter why this job, product, and/or company is of particular interest to you. We look forward to talking!

At New Relic, we hire people who are eager to contribute to our culture, and we empower them to do just that. What does this look like in action? You should be ready to be a “culture add” to New Relic and spend ~5% of your time finding meaningful ways to make this an even better place to work.
