We provide services to partner clients globally via our innovative advanced robotics technology, known as the Ocado Smart Platform ("OSP"), this drives our highly automated, multi-million pound Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs). In our CFCs together with the proprietary software applications - we operate a world-class online grocery business that automates the single pick of products, ready for your online delivery.
About the role
The ecommerce team has a key role in offering frictionless, convenient and hyper-personalised shopping experiences for millions of global users across multiple platforms, in different regions, languages and currencies. You will be part of a team that contributes to the delivery of features from conception to production using our primary programming language, Java. Working with the team on continuous improvement of the SDLC you will develop new systems and capabilities as well as making changes to existing systems. You will promote good engineering practices, bug prevention strategies, testability, fixing security vulnerabilities where appropriate, and other advanced quality concepts. Online shopping never sleeps, so we need to support our code 24x7x365, this role may require participation in out-of- hours support
About you
You will have a BSc degree in Computer Science or a related field with a good command of English (both spoken and written). You have experience in Java and have a passion for developing high-quality enterprise software as well as understanding of TDD and clean code. If you have knowledge of AWS or Cloud environments that would be helpful, but not essential.
