Job Summary

The Senior Software Engineer will be part of an R&D Team in charge of building vertical solutions on top of the Devo Platform that create value for Devo's customers. Those vertical solutions are aligned to satisfy the needs of the market Devo has a presence on, primarily Security and IT Operations. While his/her work will be mostly internal, effective cross-organizational and departmental relationships building skills will be needed.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design and implement vertical solutions on top of the Devo Platform using standard back-end technologies (C++, Golang).
  • Test, support and evolve the set of developed solutions based on their respective strategic plans and roadmaps.
  • Become an independent contributor. Propose new ideas and, implementation alternatives and influence the product development plans.
  • Cooperate with other organizations and teams for cross-department cooperation.
  • Become the go-to person for technical support, product evangelization, etc.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with C++ in cross platform projects.
  • Experience with build automation tools: make, CMake, Autoconf.
  • Experience developing resource-constrained software and performance-critical applications.
  • Experience auditing, maintaining and evolving a shared codebase.
  • Extensive experience with relational (mySQL) and non-relational databases, (RocksDB, MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD tools: Jira, Git, Sonarqube, Jenkins, test frameworks, etc.
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
  • Autonomous, 'get things done', mindset; curiosity to innovate every day, proactivity to set ideas into action.
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Bonus Skills

  • Knowledge of open-source security tools: Osquery, FleetDM
  • Experience and willingness to work in OpenSource projects managed by the community. You want to involve yourself in the project and contribute back to it as part of your work.
  • Experience in cloud-based (AWS), and experience in the development of microservices and their orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Swarm).
