Responsibilities
Develop new user-facing features for our iOS & Android application built with JavaScript (NativeScript framework) and our web app built with JavaScript and Ruby.
Always be looking at ways to improve our existing code base and products.
Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
Optimise applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
About you
You are a Senior JavaScript developer who is passionate about the web and has a portfolio of personal projects and professional work to match. You are the kind of developer who takes ownership over the product or service you’re working on, and always puts the user front and centre. You’re involved in developer communities, always making new discoveries and bringing new ideas and solutions to the products and services you are working on. You are proficient in JavaScript but you relish the opportunity to learn and develop your ability in other programming languages, and you are able to do this quickly. You’re a strong communicator, and you enjoy collaborating with technical and non-technical colleagues alike.
Skills and qualifications
Strong understanding of JavaScript
Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3 and responsive web design.
Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.
Good understanding of AngularJS
Good understanding of APIs and REST
Good understanding of test-driven development and automation
Good understanding of browser rendering behavior and performance
Good understanding of a server-side language, such as Node.js, PHP or Ruby
Familiarity with front-end build tools, such as Grunt / Gulp.js
Strong written and spoken English
