Interested in applying your cutting edge computer vision research to
real-world applications? Want to work in a startup, get paid properly,
and have meaningful equity?
Xihelm is a venture-backed, applied deep computer vision startup
working in smart cities and security, and is an Entrepreneur First
graduate. We have real enterprise and government customers, and are
working on some cool recognition tasks that could save billions, and
hopefully even save lives. Good luck trying to find much out about us on
Google though :)
There’s a good chance to help define our culture as employee #3. So
far, we enjoy our “Wednesday night is pub night”, free lunches when the
Spanish CTO is late, and the CEO’s impressive trigger finger at Laser
Quest. What would you like to do?
We’re looking for impressive people. Think you can implement Faster
R-CNN on a Commodore 64 in the time most people eat their lunch? Come
talk to us.
Responsibilities
* Identify the biggest likely gaps in our image current recognition stacks and plans.
* Define the algorithmic approach for solving specific enterprise
optimisation tasks, working with our customers and stakeholders, and
help define our technical strategy.
* Implement machine learning and computer vision models that work and scale up.
Minimum qualifications:
* MSc or PhD degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or undeniably equivalent practical experience.
* 4 years of experience in software engineering (Python or C++)
including implementation of computer vision object recognition using
deep neural networks.
* Passion to stay at the “practical cutting edge”.
Preferred qualifications:
* Experience in a research setting (e.g. national labs or postdoc).
* Experience with deep learning frameworks (preferably Tensorflow/Torch).
* A publication history, Kaggle record or active Github profile you’re proud of.
* Understanding of other cutting edge research e.g. reinforcement learning.
Please note:
* At the moment we aren’t able to sponsor visas or support remote
work unfortunately. You’ll need to be an EU citizen or authorised to
work in the UK, and be willing to work from our funky office in London.
* Sorry, no agencies or consultants, thanks.
* Otherwise, please do reach out!
