What will you do?

At Holaluz we are developing a new strategy team to analyze and decide what will be our next steps to achieve our 2023 goals.

You will be working with top management to provide strategic analysis and insights to drive the strategic planning process.

We expect from you to support high priority and high impact strategic projects. These projects can be technological, operational, etc. We need a professional who is eager to understand our organizational challenges and provide analysis and ideas on how to overcome them.

We expect from you to develop deep customer, industry, market and competitive insights and present them to the strategy committee to discern what projects should Holaluz be doing next.

We also expect from you to contribute to the development of presentations, materials, and other strategy-related documents to be shared both internally and externally.

And #SayThingsAsTheyAre is one of our values, we want to be clear and transparent in explaining what you will do during your first 6 months at Holaluz.

In 1 month:

  • Understand the organizational structure and be able to discern where to look for information.
  • Be able to understand what metrics and KPIs do we follow and why.
  • Be able to understand our 2023 goals and how to achieve them, as well as knowing what our current KPIs are, and discern what should be worrying us.
  • Participate in the analysis of current ongoing projects.
  • Participate in the material creation of current ongoing projects.

In 3 months:

  • Be able to analyze a project in an autonomous way, asking for help when needed.
  • Manage the relation with the technical team(s) in order to investigate or execute projects of strategic importance.
  • Collaborate and participate with the strategic committee to present these projects.

In 6 months:

  • You need to be autonomous to analyze and propose solutions to our most important issues to be transformed.
  • Collaborate regularly with the strategy committee to present and propose strategic projects.
  • Define what other profiles would this team need and hire in order to execute strategic projects.

How will you do it?

At Holaluz we have built a robust and constantly iterating organisational system, which allows us to adapt to the constant changes demanded by the sector and to achieve the purpose we pursue, using various methodologies, including SCRUM. At Holaluz, meetings and decisions are made collaboratively, feedback flows 🤟 between the different teams and support between people is promoted.

Who will you do it with?

Our teams are multidisciplinar, so you will be working with different professional profiles. This allows us to make sure that the team is able to answer all the business needs with a 360 vision.

By now the team is formed by some Data Engineers, one Data Architect, one Data Scientist, one Business Analyst/Project Manager, and a Product Owner. Each one is a fully responsible member of the team that works on the ongoing initiatives with independence but totally connected with the rest of the team.

Furthermore, you will have a complete vision of the Holaluz technological strategy, being in touch with other engineering teams that work in other very interesting fields. With these connections you will have access to an endless reservoir of knowledge and experience.


Where will you do it?

Another way of #KeepRowing is rowing all together in perfect synchronisation and towards a common goal, and what a better place to do it than in our offices in Barcelona, just 200 metres from the sea 🌊. This exceptional location next to the beach is perfect for a break with a dip and to put into practice another of our #HaveFun values.

But since March the number of "Holaluz offices" has multiplied by 220, everyone has their own little Holaluz, with their sea views (or not), their coffee or tea machine, their open space for lunch, their meeting rooms (now with a little more availability), and also their routines and organisation. We are committed to individuality and flexibility by putting people at the core of our decisions, that's why our offices are open for those who need or want to work in them. We are working on flexible seating in the office and providing individual lockers for everyone, as well as adapting all the meeting rooms so that we can make better video-conferencing and continue to work as comfortably as possible from home or from the office. Our people are the most valuable asset, so in the office we must comply with the following agreements:
  • It’s essential to wear a mask when moving around in the office. Not when we’re sitting in our workplace (respecting distances) but when we’re moving around (toilets, going to the kitchen, showers or meeting rooms).
  • We now use the elbow bump to greet each other.
  • The cleaning team comes daily to the office but to reinforce this we have cleaning kits in all the meeting rooms and other spaces.
  • On a weekly basis, we have a health team available to carry out Covid tests on people who come to the office.
  • And of course: safety distance, temperature taking, hand washing, limited seating and restricted external visits.

What do we need?

We are looking for an experienced data scientist that will help us to analyse our vast amount of data, and help us to make smarter decisions by means of improving our predictive models and developing new ones.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing ML models in python mainly for regression and NLP problems.

For this role, it is required the ability to design and develop solutions, and being able to deploy these analytical solutions in cloud (AWS) is desirable.

These are some of the skills we are looking for:

  • Highly proficient in Python and knowledge in ML libraries: sklearn, pandas, pyspark, nltk.
  • Experience working with query languages such as SQL.
  • Git version control.
  • Experience at AWS.
  • Knowledge of data pipelines/ETLs implementation and good practices.
  • Data cleaning.
  • Analytical Thinking.
  • Reporting skills.
  • Error analysis.
  • Experience with production environments.
  • Highly collaborative working style.
  • Strong drive for excellence.
  • Proactive.
