Job Description

Mapillary is looking for a Data Analyst. Your job will be helping us make better decisions based on data, and helping our customers with numbers and analysis about Mapillary data.

Mapillary is a platform for street level imagery. Our users and partners have contributed more than 375 million images to our platform and covered more than 5 million kilometers of roads and paths. We use computer vision and machine learning to extract map data (such as traffic signs and their locations) from that imagery. All of this leads to a rich corpus of metadata and user behavior, that needs various forms of analysis.


Your responsibilities:

  • Recurring metrics and analytics reporting: set up and execution

  • Support product, data acquisition, marketing and business development team with analytics related work

  • Manage and drive company-wide KPI reporting

  • Drive definition and reporting of key metrics around our data corpus and user behavior

  • Other general data analysis, stats, and data science work

  • Collecting and distilling requirements for metrics and analytics

  • Building recurrent reporting and help answer one-off metrics and analytics questions

  • Drive building the right systems for all of the above in cooperation with engineering

  • Consolidate and analyze incoming user/customer feedback from various source into quantitative data

  • Your work could also include help with business model and business case analysis, as well as some market research

Requirements


  • A seasoned data analyst with 3+ years experience in a similar setting

  • Ideally experience in a later stage startup and/or corporate

  • Strong mathematical and analytical background. Helping the teams asking the right questions and finding the right metrics and visualizations to address them.

  • Experience with a variety of commonly used data analysis tools and languages such as SQL, Python, R, Redshift, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Tableau, etc.

  • Ideally prior experience with analysis and visualization of geodata

  • Ideally ability to contribute smaller analytics and metrics related code changes to our production systems, using standard git based development workflow

  • Strong team player, who can act independently and in a cross functional way between product, engineering, and marketing
