Job Description

Each month, hundreds of millions of students around the world come to Brainly to learn and help one another. The Community Product team builds products that empower students to become community experts and scale their knowledge to our global audience. We’re looking for an experienced Product Designer to design the next generation of Community products and tools. As part of the team, you’ll help reinvent our moderation and community experience from the ground up. You’ll define untapped opportunities, future features, and community-driven products that can deepen engagement with Brainly’s most valuable users while ensuring the overall safety, quality, and trustworthiness of our platform.

WHAT IS THE CHALLENGE WAITING FOR YOU:

  • Owning design problems end to end, from initial concept through shipping and beyond
  • Working in the product team with substantial autonomy and strong impact on the product
  • Being responsible for maximizing the value proposition of our product for users as well as cross-device and cross-platform experience personalization
  • Creating new experiments with a very strong focus on the business’ needs
  • Identifying opportunities for new products
  • Analyzing how a new product ties in with market needs and consumer preferences
  • Setting design requirements based on briefs from internal teams and external partners
  • Researching materials and techniques
  • Producing prototypes and test functionality
  • Gather feedback from product users and improving the design of existing products

YOU ARE A GOOD FIT IF YOU HAVE:

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience as a Product Designer
  • Broad understanding of a large internet business to include familiarity with UX design, product development processes/cycles for web & apps, A/B testing frameworks, etc.
  • A track record of shipping great design, and an understanding of what details matter at each stage of the release cycle
  • Experience in working for e-commerce, SaaS, or digital marketing agency (considered as a plus)
  • Experience in collaborating with Scrum Team (considered as a plus)
  • Academic degree in the field of design (considered as a plus)

 

Attributes:

  • Great communication skills and fluency in English
  • Team player attitude
  • Ability to explain ideas and designs clearly and concisely to successfully convince, motivate and inspire stakeholders at all levels of understanding – from design-unaware business people to highly-experienced designers
  • Ability to solve complex design problems together with the team, but also take ownership of developed solutions
  • Willingness to work on user experience design (user-tests, customer journey, personas)
  • Ability to share knowledge through workshops and presentations



Skills and systems:

  • Expert knowledge in product design frameworks and methodologies
  • Experience in interface design tools (we use Sketch)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design patterns (and when to break them)
  • Knowledge of sales principles, qualitative and quantitative methods for user research, and A/B testing frameworks
  • Strong visual design skills and passion for interaction design with a portfolio showing high quality, thoughtful UI and UX work
  • Experience in conversion rate optimization and designing interfaces for sales projects (considered as a plus)
  • Experience in Abstract and Design Systems (considered as a plus)
  • Understanding the principles of gamification (considered as a plus)
