What we’re looking for:
Gartner Digital Markets is looking for a passionate Senior Cloud Engineer to work with our highly skilled Digital Markets technology team located in Barcelona.
The role is responsible for helping the team to achieve its SLA goal of 99.99 uptime for production infrastructure. The production infrastructure is a hybrid cloud with resources in Equinix data center and the AWS public cloud. The Senior Cloud Engineer will also be responsible for supporting development efforts into new cloud providers and technologies.
Why you’ll want to come to work everyday:
Maintain performance, security, and availability of production systems in the AWS public cloud infrastructure to achieve 99.99% uptime.
Proactively monitor the production environment and continuously improve the existing monitoring setup.
Provide support to the other teams on their AWS cloud-related requirements.
Write and maintain code for automating the creation of cloud assets using tools such as ansible, terraform, and cloudformation.
Write and maintain clear documentation and standards for cloud operations.
Attend daily stand ups and regular scrum meetings.
Respond to monitoring alerts in a timely manner.
What you’ll bring to the team:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
2+ years of experience supporting production workloads from AWS public cloud.
Experience with a Linux operating system. CentOS/Redhat preferred.
3+ years of experience in the field of Information Technology (Systems Administration or DevOps).
Experience working with a CDN such as Akamai or AWS CloudFront.
Experience in implementing and maintaining monitoring, performance, and logging tools.
Experience in scripting or programming languages such as shell script, Perl, Ruby or Python.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
Experience in Infrastructure as Code solution such as Ansible, Puppet and Chef
Experience in cloud provisioning tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform. Terraform preferred.
Working knowledge of fundamental networking, security, and systems engineering concepts such as TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, Load Balancing, SSL.
Familiarity with relational database concepts and NoSQL such as DynamoDB.
Experience working with a source control system such as git.
Ability to quickly learn and implement new technologies.
Nice to have:
One associate level AWS Certification.
Experience with Function as a Service deployment using AWS Lambda.
Experience with ElasticSearch.
Experience with Kubernetes.
Experience working in a hybrid cloud environment.
Experience working in an Agile Scrum or Kanban model.
