Softonic is seeking a focused,
sales driven and experienced Sales Director (reporting to General
Manager of Softonic.com) to support the growth of our company and its
expansion into new markets. The candidate will work from the Barcelona
Headquarters and will manage our global advertising sales business
across Europe, APAC and Latin America.
Our Sales Director candidates should
have a track record of successful direct sales and supervisory
experience in a fast-growing, international internet or media company.
The right candidate will have significant sales management experience, a
strong knowledge of interactive media, and a demonstrated ability to
develop and implement an effective sales strategy. We require
significant knowledge of advertising metrics including CPM, CPC, CPL,
CPA, CTR, conversion rates, and ad effectiveness measures; exceptional
sales skills including prospecting, cold calling, making presentations,
negotiating and closing of online advertising campaigns; familiarity
with Ad Serving platforms and audience targeting by language, geography,
content and behavior, is desired.
The Sales Director will manage a team
of 10+ people, and will be accountable for the overall Direct Sales
turnover, which comes mainly from Media Sales Agencies and Software
Companies. They will also manage Affiliation.
The Sales Director will also be
responsible for defining the products we sell, working with the product
team to ensure that we have the right product strategy, and building the
relevant product marketing stories.
We ideally need someone who has been
leading the Performance based sales operations in an international B2C
internet company, managing sales people in different locations across
Europe and America, with well established relationships with media
planners in the top Agencies as well as strong existing relationships
with direct clients, preferably in technology related categories.

Key responsibilities:
- Achieve sales targets and proactively identify develop and drive longer-term strategies and initiatives and will deliver growth
- In
conjunction with the Product and Development team, drive the product
strategy as it relates to Direct Sales opportunities and build the sales
marketing story
- Build and mentor a strong sales and account management team (+10 headcount)
- Brainstorm
creative solutions incorporating multiple touch points including rich
media, sponsorships, content integration, email and social media
- Maximize Softonic´s inventory through direct and programmatic environment
- Bring relevant industry insights into Softonic to help improve our product and services to fit the requirements of our market
- Gather
market intelligence; identify untapped market potential; design and
support strategic initiatives including fixing weak areas of the
business and investing in emerging markets
