Job Description

Have you always wanted to unite your passion for learning with your skills as a QA Engineer? Do you want to work with an incredible team that is making an impact on learning around the world? Then we can’t wait to meet you!

We’re looking for a QA Engineer based in Spain to join the team at Edpuzzle, a leading edtech company with HQs in San Francisco and Barcelona and a team that’s growing around the globe! The right person will help us provide end-to-end solutions to software quality problems as well as conduct tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly. The end goal? To help teachers and empower them to engage their students with videos. If you’re looking for a meaningful role on a multicultural and collaborative team, you’ll feel right at home with us.

How will you work?

Do you like to face new challenges? You’ll have a front-row seat at one of the fastest-growing companies in educational technology, trusted by over 80% of schools in the USA and millions of teachers and students across the globe. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to our product and team development, be part of diverse projects and stay up to date with the latest software technologies. In the process, you’ll be challenged daily, learn constantly, see the impact of your opinions and work, and grow as an engineer.

Which technologies do we use?

Technically speaking, our product is written in JavaScript and Node.js and data is stored on MongoDB, ElasticSearch, and Redis. We’re fully hosted on AWS which we also use to store, encode, and stream our own pool of videos. We are continuously improving our release pipeline with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code, using technologies like GitHub Actions, CloudFormation, and CDK.

What about the team?

You’ll be our first QA Engineer! So, the professional who joins us will have the opportunity to help us design, analyze, create, and decide the QA processes and testing strategies needed to make sure the product is running at its best. You’ll also work on continuous improvements and release automations under your criteria, directly reporting to the Head of DevOps and Security.

But that doesn’t mean you’ll be alone! Our Engineering, Product, and DevOps Team are some of the biggest at Edpuzzle, and you’ll be surrounded by talented and driven people with different backgrounds and different levels of seniority. This allows us to learn from each other and get to know our product in-depth, end to end, with continuous deployments every day, and collaborate on scalable projects to achieve challenging goals together!

Moreover, you’ll have the chance to make a full assessment of the product, and determine the strategy to implement with regards to the future testing, improvements, and implementations of automated processes as well as releases.

About you:

  • You’re excited by the opportunity to work in education.
  • You make all your technology decisions with the final user in mind.
  • You love learning and mastering technologies.
  • You can work independently and manage goals and deadlines effectively.

EDpuzzle is the easiest way for teachers to engage their students with videos. Over 7 million teachers and students around the world have already trusted us to help them in their classroom.

We are a small team of very talented people distributed between San Francisco and Barcelona. We started over 3 years ago at ImagineK12, the first education incubator in the USA and now part of Y Combinator (where Airbnb and Dropbox were born). We are grateful for the support our teachers and investors give us every day.

We empower teachers to make any video their lesson with a combination of our simple video-editing tools and powerful analytics about their students' progress. Teachers can turn any video into an engaging and effective lesson with just a few clicks and then always know which students understand that lesson, who needs help, if there are any misconceptions about the material, etc. thanks to our automatically gathered insights about their students. We work towards a day where every teacher and student will be just a click away from an excellent online education. Together we are building a pool of the best video lessons for the classroom.
