Product Teams at Brainly are working on some of the most complex technical challenges in the ed-tech space and creating the product for over 200 million students around the world. We focus on building the infrastructure and features that enable Brainly users to ask and answer millions of questions every day.

Members of the New Initiatives Team collaboratively build a new user’s approach and feature sets to the existing Q&A learning platform improving our business model, knowledge base, and satisfaction of our users. This team works closely with our commercial, engagement, and mobile team and is thinking of the best user experience and revenue perspective creating another strong muscle in Brainly’s long-term strategy.

We want to be the best educational platform in the world and are currently looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer to help us to build it.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

A new QA Automation Engineer will join New Initiatives (New Product) Team and will be responsible for:

  • working hand in hand with the product development team, to deliver releasable increments of the software
  • leading the process of the quality of the product team focused on building the tutoring product
  • leading within the product development team process of designing, developing, executing and maintaining automated end-to-end tests
  • cooperating closely with the QA Infrastructure team on standards, conventions and best practices
  • monitoring and analyzing end-to-end test logs, reporting bugs and tracking them to a resolution if necessary
  • creating and gathering data for QA metrics to track achieving the core business KPIs;
  • executing and preparing test cases and test scenarios;
  • reporting and investigating issues/bugs found;
  • collaborating with the development team, QAs and Product Owners.
  • documenting and analyzing test results

WHAT WILL YOU NEED:

Required

  • good programming skills, JavaScript or Python
  • very good verbal and written communication in English (minimum B2/C1 level)
  • strong background in tooling and QA automation (Selenium, Cypress, Serenity, behave, pytest Puppeteer, Cucumber)
  • best practices in writing, executing and monitoring automated test suites using a variety of technologies
  • strong working knowledge of software QA methodologies and processes
  • familiarity and practical experience with design patterns
  • knowledge about best practices for test cases creation, maintenance, and execution
  • understanding of user acceptance methodologies including, black box testing, use cases, and user stories
  • excellent interpersonal skills including team working, analytical thinking, problem-solving;
  • good time management skills
  • flexible and self-learning
  • sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success

Preferred

  • hands-on experience or desire to test educational platforms
  • working experience with CI/CD tools (TeamCity, Jenkins, Travis)
  • working experience with containerization tools and/or visualization and monitoring tools
  • familiarity with BDD and/or TDD concepts
  • familiarity with ISTQB concepts
  • knowledge of tools for project/test management (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Zephyr, TestRail, Xray)
