Job Description

We are now recruiting for an experienced Product Designer. Reporting to the VP of Product, you’ll be part of a new team working on a new product that will define a whole new category. You will be tasked with creating the most beautiful user interface the sector has ever seen, with outstanding design strategy, principles, and language at the heart.

When we say this is a greenfield opportunity, we really do mean it. You’ll have a literal blank canvas; directing the aesthetic for our entire user experience, end-to-end. You’ll have all of the tools you need – outstanding developers, product managers, and some of the best clients and partners in the world – as well as the support of an experienced VP.

We’ll give you lots of autonomy, collaboration, ambition, and vision. Along with a promise and commitment to make design, brand, beauty, and magic priorities when we consider what our users see, touch, and experience.

You’ll be joining a team that’s obsessed with shipping the best product; and you’ll be the person we turn to for all things UI, buddying up with a UX Designer to form a dynamic duo.

Our blank canvas opportunity means we need to hire someone who can juggle, prioritise, control, improve, problem solve, and communicate. Our ideal candidate will probably have a good understanding of UX but it’s your UI design skills – and desire to make every user interaction a beautiful one – that we’re most interested in.

Requirements:

=      Proven experience working as a Product / UI Designer or similar

=      Experience designing for Mobile and Desktop

=      A natural collaborator, with experience of working with UX Designers, Developers, Product Managers and Commercial - you will have strong influencing and mediation skills, and know when to apply them

=      A passion for design, brand, and aesthetic

=      A good understanding of design strategy, principles, and language

=      Experience creating a house style, with a focus on attaining consistency

=      A solid track record of delivering user experiences that not only work, but are beautiful and individual

=      A problem solver – either individually, in small groups, or as a whole team

=      The ability to talk to design and non-design / tech and non-tech people equally

=      A natural researcher, able to compile and curate examples of visual design for the decision making process

=      Experience working as part of an Agile / Lean development process

=      An ‘on your feet’ thinker, used to making resources and assets (time, imagery, video, copy, iconography, wayfinding, etc) work hard

=      The knowledge behind how a brand is built, with the confidence to try new things

=      The type of personality that thrives in a fast paced, and often pivoting, atmosphere where new ideas can change everything all at once on an almost daily basis

=      Mastery of all relevant software – including Adobe, InVision, and Sketch

Nice to haves:

=      Experience in a fast-moving new technology company

=      Experience with online marketplaces

=      Experience working with travel brands

=      Experience working with financial services brands

=      Hands-on experience working with photography (commissioned, stock, or self-shot)

=      Experience creating flexible designs for international markets
