Purpose of role:
The PHP
Developers are a key member of our IT development team. They are
responsible for ensuring that our digital services (website, android
& apple apps) allow our customers to place transactions in a quick,
easy, and reliable way.
Role details:
- Conduct a thorough analysis of the website/webpage to ensure that business and customer requirements are met.
- In
conjunction with the Digital Centre of expertise and business streams,
develop innovative but realistic ideas to advance our web services,
improving the functionality, look and feel of our digital services.
- Gain acceptance and approval for the proposed developments from both IT management & the centre of expertise/business.
- Develop/code
the agreed improvements ensuring that our web services are dynamic in
nature and embed all the advantages of the PHP script.
- Ensure database optimisation to handle large peaks of traffic and data.
- Perform full end to end testing of the code, debugging any errors prior to launch.
- Ongoing
maintenance of functionality to ensure that the look and feel of the
website is consistent with the company style and ethos.
Person Specification
Essential Skills
- Demonstrable experience in large projects with PHP / MySQL environments.
- Strong working knowledge of PHP, MySql and Laravel frameworks
- At least 2 years experience in similar positions
- Expertise in Web services
- Strong/intermediate level of English and Spanish
Desirable Skills
- Linux server administration (debian, red hat)
- Android / Apple programming knowledge
