Job Description

About Uber

We’re changing the way people think about transportation. Not that long ago we were just an app to request premium black cars in a few metropolitan areas. Now we’re a part of the logistical fabric of more than 600 cities around the world. Whether it’s a ride, a sandwich, or a package, we use technology to give people what they want, when they want it.

For the people who drive with Uber, our app represents a flexible new way to earn money. For cities, we help strengthen local economies, improve access to transportation, and make streets safer.

And that’s just what we’re doing today. We’re thinking about the future, too. With teams working on autonomous trucking and self-driving cars, we’re in for the long haul. We’re reimagining how people and things move from one place to the next.

The Marketplace Efficiency role is a unique opportunity to have a direct impact on Southwest European countries by continually improving the rider experience through greater driver availability, while minimizing costs and streamlining processes associated with the supply side of our business, across the region. This person will work with data to monitor driver behavior and ensure efficiency through asset utilization, product improvement and supply-chain management.

What you’ll do

  • Develop an analyses to understand the fine details of marketplace dynamics across Southwest Europe and execute projects supporting country teams in reaching their optimal efficiencies given their local constraints
  • Heavy analysis of our marketplace, rider, and partner behavior to identify and help partners optimize their utilization of the platform and their revenues while delivering optimal rider experiences and maximizing our reliability
  • Develop attractive and actionable dashboards tracking you and your team's KPIs with our reams of data.
  • Work with the Operations and Marketplace teams in Iberia to shape the product roadmap that enables us to provide the most reliable mobility options to riders and be the platform of choice for partner-drivers, with a constant business rationale.
  • Proactively search for new features which could improve a seamless driver and rider experience.
  • Evaluate the economic and strategic costs and benefits of programs and work with management to execute those strategies as efficiently as possible

  • 2-5 years of consulting, financial or operations background with previous experience using data to drive business decisions.
  • Consistent track record of being a respected operational problem solver.
  • Data driven decision making mentality and sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking and experimentation.
  • Speed, resourcefulness, and self-starter attitude - Uber is committed to constant improvement. You’re excited to help create a product with value.
  • Excellent excel skills, SQL skills preferred.
  • Ability to create, implement and improve scalable operational processes.
