At Taxfix we want to make
taxes easier. We believe that everybody, regardless of their income or
tax know-how, deserves to get the maximum out of their tax returns. We
have a vision that by using Taxfix, everyone will be able to submit
their taxes from their mobile phone in a matter of minutes.
As an
iOS developer at Taxfix you will be building the customer-facing product
to file tax returns from iPhones. You will be involved in important
product decisions and work closely with the whole team to create elegant
and reliable user interfaces.
We’re using React Native for the
view layer. Don’t let that worry you, though, as a big part of the app
is still a native iOS product - there’s still plenty of Cocoa Touch in
there. Data persistence via CoreData, networking via Alamofire, and so
on. There’s a bit of Objective-C to bridge out to React Native, but most
of that is wrapped in Swift.
- Collaborate closely in a multi-disciplinary team to define and ship an app that will grow with the product
- Implementing custom UI components for our conversational interface - either native or hybrid
- Integrate both our own and third-party APIs
- Unit test, debug and optimise code for efficiency and performance
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in developing iOS apps
- Have published one or more iOS apps in the app store
- Be accountable for all aspects of your work, from research and analysis to testing and deployment
- Ability to make pragmatic decisions in response to time and resource constraints in startup
- Experience with Swift, Git and TDD
- Experience with JavaScript/Node.js
- Knowledge of developing hybrid apps (e.g. React Native)
- Proven experience connecting iOS applications to back-end services
- Fluent in English
- Full-time position
- Permanently based in Berlin or willing to move
- EU passport holder or other permit to work in the EU
