Peaks is looking for a Medior/Senior Android Developer
Hi,
I am Sijbrand, and I’m the co-founder of a new fintech startup, named
Peaks: an innovative, interactive app, that makes investing a
possibility for everyone. We make investing not only accessible, but
sustainable as well. And we’re not just a startup: one of the largest
banks in the Netherlands funded us. Our company already has over thirty
employees and one goldfish, named Bernie, and he has the ambition to
conquer not only the Dutch market, but also the rest of Europe.
In
May or June our app will go live, and we are expecting to attract a lot
of customers. To keep our customers satisfied, we want to make sure our
app works perfectly and is always up-to-date. And that is where you
come in: an Android Developer with a lot of knowledge about the Android
framework and a passion for delivering polished products that customers
really like to use.
What are you going to do?
With
our international team of fun-loving engineers you will design and
build the next generation of our app. You will code the Android app and
team up with our back-end engineers to make sure stuff doesn’t break
(too much). For that reason, in addition to working with REST API’s, it
is important that you are also comfortable and confident in giving your
opinion to your fellow colleagues. You will assist in refining and
enhancing mobile architectures and frameworks. You will not rest until
your code actually works. This means you test for robustness, edge
cases, usability, and general reliability. We do not mind of course if
you automate the most obvious test cases.
Requirements
We most probably like you a lot if you:
- Have a Masters or Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field
- Have at least two years of work experience
- Know how to work with Zeplin, Scrum and Jira (or another issue tracker)
- Have a good feeling for User Experience, and want to play a big part in the development of a user-friendly product
- Are self-motivated to explore new technologies, applications and environments
- Are analytic. You’re able to see the bigger picture and willing to get into the details
- Are structured and make things happen
- Are a really nice person with communication skills
We see it as a big bonus if you also:
- Stay for beers and bitterballs on friday afternoon
Benefits
We offer you:
- A competitive salary
- An office at the Leidsestraat in Amsterdam
- A
motivated team of Dutch and international colleagues who all have the
same passion: making our business successful and our customers satisfied
- No bureaucratic hassle: a flatter than flat organization and no-nonsense culture
- The chance to play a part in our humble beginnings
