Job Description

DogBuddy helps thousands of dog owners across Europe find a local and reliable dog sitter. Owners can easily book overnight boarding, daytime dog sitting or walking with one of 30,000+ approved sitters in the UK, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands.

As we grow, we’re looking for a smart and passionate Marketing Manager for the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), reporting to our Senior International Marketing Manager as part of our marketing team based in Barcelona. 

You’ll be responsible for growing DogBuddy in Germany and launching the business in Austria and Switzerland. You’ll help to build and position the DogBuddy brand in these new market. Day-to-day you will be responsible for the planning and implementation of all local marketing, social media, PR, event and partnership activities. You’ll regularly assist in delivering content for emails and blog posts, and be our local ‘eyes and ears’ - keeping us up to date with what’s happening in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The Role

  • Build partnerships with notable pet and travel related companies in the market

  • Engage daily with our dog-loving community across social media

  • Create, localise and translate a range of blog and email content to inspire our audience

  • Regularly work with local partners and other brands (eg. vets, pet shops)

  • Plan and implement country and city specific marketing activity (eg. street teams)

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of local digital marketing campaigns

Your Background

  • Native German speaker with an excellent level of English

  • At least 1 years of social media / marketing experience (client side or agency)

  • Past practice of localising and translating different types of copy

  • Prior experience working with cross-functional, remote or international teams

  • Previous startup/high-growth business experience

Good to know

  • You’ll be expected to travel a few times each year to Germany and London

  • This role is based in Barcelona, but part of a global team with offices in London (HQ) and Stockholm
