Job Description

New Relic One platform group is seeking an Engineering Manager with a passion for people management, growing strong teams, and shipping software that delights customers.

Our group’s goal is to provide New Relic engineers with a platform for developing, shipping, and operating reliable software at speed and scale -- built on reusable services, standards, and practices!

Our Engineering Managers are a select group of leader-coaches who shape the solutions we bring to the market and foster an inclusive environment that brings out the best in people! You’ll manage a team of engineers that operate, scale and acts as the first entry point to access the New Relic universe.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead by example- we are looking for hardworking leaders that can inspire the team and guide it towards success.
  • Coach and mentor a gifted group of engineers so that they can develop further their personal and professional skillsets to shine even more.
  • Drive the team roadmap together with our Product Manager, striking a balance between feature-forward work, maintaining a reliable platform and paying off technical debt
  • Develop and iterate on processes and practices that keep the team executing efficiently
  • Help the team maintain a highly reliable Platform that powers New Relic products

Your Qualifications

Must-have:

  • Experience in a technical leadership role, leading operationally-focused teams that applies software engineering practices to meet our very demanding service levels.
  • Value high iteration speed, low cycle times, a focus on the actual problems we're solving for our customers, good communication, collaboration, and improving the people around us.
  • Willing to adapt your management style. We’re working in a highly changing environment, and have a particular process you follow isn’t going to work.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, very customer-centric, and able to think big.
  • You really enjoy change. As the company is growing, our environment going through a transformation. You receive a lot of support, but the job evolves every six months, so you should bloom in this kind of environment.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with UI and Micro frontend architecture either as a Software Engineer or Manager.
  • A clear understanding of Design Systems and the value they offer.
