About the job
We're looking for a Lead DevOps engineer with project and people management skills.
Your day starts with a good cup of coffee (or hot tea). You catch up
with the development teams for alignment and to understand their
impediments related to operations. After that you start with your own
team stand up, you know which steps need to be taken today to get us to a
100% cloud-based service and understand the complexity and dependencies
of all the steps to be taken. You know the impediments of your own team
and are offering your help in finding solutions both inside as well as
outside of your team. While focusing on the migration with your team
other additional activities pop-up. You are asked to give advice on
Requests for Proposals from Sales with a very tight deadline and at the
same time a severe bug has been reported that requires your team's
attention. You like a challenge and are able to prioritise quickly,
inform the stakeholders and put everything to a peaceful and relaxed
state again. After that you take some time to investigate the next steps
to take to professionalise operations, you prepare a workshop with
development to explain them the benefits future steps will have for
them.
While you understand the technical complexity in detail, you are able
to take your less technical stakeholders with you in this journey. You
like to get the less infrastructure focused part of our business to
understand the importance of the steps you and your team are taking.
With your devops team you will take responsibility for the overall stability, scalability and growth of our infrastructure.
