Job mission:
As one of the largest online distributor of
flights in the world (measured in terms of sales), and one of Europe’s
largest e-commerce, the businesses is looking to welcome a motivated Junior Systems Administrator to join our Production Services Team based in our HQ in Barcelona, Spain, reporting directly to the Monitoring Manager.
As Junior Systems Administrator Monitoring Operator, you
will interpret signals from alarms transmitted by the different
monitoring platforms, analysing tendencies and read into the prod
platform as well as the office platform in order to push forward to
possible issues.
You will join a team of 6 passionate Monitoring
Operators, working in a multicultural and challenging environment, where
you will be in continuous interaction with the business and will have a
first-hand experience with our technology.
Training is also part of our day to day: join the challenge and be prepared to learn a lot!
We also have the chance to work with amazing Agile
Coaches and Product Owner helping Technical Team to follow the best
practices of Agile Methodologies.

Main responsibilities (included but not limited):
- Maintain operations by monitoring error and stoppage messages; entering commands to correct errors and stoppages.
- Resolve prod issues using ad hoc documentation.
- Create new and update the old monitors.
- Document and stock the services.
- Fault handling and escalation.
- Participate in a 24×7 call-out shift if required.
Desired skills & experience:
- We are looking for a fresh graduate in engineering or technical degree.
- + 1 year of experience in a similar role will be highly appreciated.
- Fluent
in English with good communication skills as you will be interacting
with many different stakeholders from other cultures across the business
in your daily basis.
- Basic sysadmin skills.
- Basic Linux CLI skills as well as python, perl, bash.
- Desirable UNIX system knowledge.
- Desirable knowledge with networking, netapp, puppet and monitoring tools.
- Ability to assess and prioritise faults and respond or escalate accordingly.
- Team player, flexible and quick learner able to deal with great workloads and tight deadlines.
