The role:

We are looking for a Java Engineer to join our Data team and champion projects across our entire Big Data stack, from tracking and data collection to processing and modelling.

This is what you will do:

  • Work on challenging developments on Marfeel’s Data Infrastructure, handling over 1Bn user sessions each month
  • Use up-to-date technologies like modern versions of Java and Spring, Docker, Kubernetes, Microservices, Apache Airflow, Snowflake, ElasticSearch, Looker
  • Work with automated environments with continuous delivery based on Jenkins and AWS, instrumented deployments
  • Work in an agile environment, following iterative development, and focused on quality and performance
  • Be involved and participate in making technical decisions

This is you:

  • Deep knowledge of Java programming language
  • Strong interest in Data and related technologies, such as Data-warehousing and databases (columnar and distributed preferred) or distributed processing engines (e.g. Spark/Splunk)
  • Experience working within a multifunctional team and collaborating with your peers
  • Eager for knowledge sharing, as well as keeping yourself up-to-date with the technology stack
We will be impressed by:

  • Relational or non-relational databases
  • Other programming languages (SQL, Python, JavaScript preferred)
  • ETL/ELT processes
  • Airflow, Luigi and/or Jenkins
  • Tracking and events modelling
  • Modern BI tools (Looker preferred)
  • AWS services and the challenges of deploying large applications in the cloud
  • Microservices (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Full-stack development
