Ria EMEA IT team is part of a global IT department distributed between Los Angeles (our Headquarters), Madrid and Kuala Lumpur. Our company is one of the leaders in the Money Transfer sector and needs to adapt its products to the different regions and regulations where we're operating, as well as launching new products across all these markets. That's why our IT team is involved in global projects which involve stakeholders from different countries and regions.

The IT Department is seeking a Business Analyst/Project Manager. The position is located in the Europe HQ office, in Alcobendas (Madrid). The Business Analyst should have excellent people management skills and strong knowledge of the software development and IT systems lifecycle. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze stakeholder and users’ requests and identify the underlying goals.

Collaborate with product owners for creating and maintaining product backlogs.

Clarify business needs and translate them into concise and effective user stories.

Define effective acceptance criteria to support development, manual and automated testing, and validation by the product owner and stakeholders.

Conduct interviews, workflow analysis, process analysis, and observation sessions.

Coordinate and gather feedback from UAT and product review sessions.

Work with key stakeholders across the company to ensure successful product delivery.

Foster Agile principles and methods for business analysis.

Act as escalation contact to organize on-going production support and troubleshooting on current production systems.

Help to coordinate cross-product initiatives.

Participate in the elaboration of product portfolios, aligned to strategic objectives.

Prepare product vision and inception materials.

Help to maintain product documentation.

Help to determine scope and define priorities.

Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.

Manage communication with third parties (vendors, suppliers, etc.)

Monitor progress and foster for adjustments as needed.

Identify areas for improvement.

 

Qualifications and experience:

5+ years of systems/business analysis experience. Similar experience in project management is a plus.

Leadership and team building experience.

Experience on Agile/Lean Development environments (Scrum, Kanban, XP)

Experience on Agile business analysis, product backlog management and writing user stories and acceptance criteria.

Experience on backlog management / software lifecycle tools (Jira, Targetprocess, Azure DevOps Redmine, etc.)

Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.

Excellent command of written and oral English.
