PayPal IBERIA Merchant Services is focused on maximising the adoption, use, and preference for PayPal on-line by addressing customer needs more effectively than any other payments provider and by offering customers the best payment experiences. As a Solution Engineer, you will partner with sales teams to drive the acceptance of PayPal within the IBERIA’s largest merchants. 

Core Responsibilities
  • Run technical presentations, demos of functionalities and sample integrations to support sales process.
  • Assist retailers’ and partners’ technical teams throughout implementation. Act as main point of contact for the client for all implementation-related activities throughout the implementation effort and track all client engagement activity using provided tools. Run test scenarios and QA testing. Perform initial monitoring of post-sales performance
Solution Analysis, Design, and Validation
  • Demonstrate understanding of prospect’s product, process and technical requirements of payment processing across all their channels and the ability to match these with existing PayPal solutions. Production of documentation to define compelling solution proposals 
  • Assess implementation risks; work with externally and with internal stakeholders to proactively and effectively remove obstacles to successful launch 
Best Practise Adoption 
  • Work with retailers and internal teams to champion best in class functionality and buyer experience 
  • Leverage customer relationship and time management skills to effectively prioritize work with multiple merchants or partners concurrently 
  • Be recognized as a subject matter expert and influence key internal stakeholders (e.g. commercial and product teams)
Experience Required

With demonstrable experience in technical pre-sales, integration or project management as well as outstanding verbal and written communication with the ability to successfully interact and dynamically adapt communication styles with all levels of client organisations. Knowledge of online payment processing, mobile apps and web or “e-tail” space is considered a plus.

Professional Qualifications
  • Proficient in both English and Spanish
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent required
  • Experience with Internet Technologies including Web Services, API Interfaces (SOAP, NVP, JSON) HTML/CSS/Responsive Design, Javascript/jQuery, and FTP/SFTP 
  • At least one major programming language (C++, ASP, Java, .NET, PHP) 
  • Mobile OS development skills (iOS/Android) 
  • Best in class presentation skills (verbal and written)
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in working with enterprise companies preferably retailers, ecommerce or payment gateways. 
  • Ability to successfully interact and dynamically adapt communication styles with all levels of client organisations including C-level executives, project managers, technical/IT staff, finance and operations.
