Karma is on a mission to transform the way the world thinks about food consumption.
We
are looking for a General Manager to lead Karma’s expansion into Spain.
This is a critical role leading the local team in one of the largest
markets in Europe
Your primary role is to act as CEO for your
market and do whatever it takes to establish Karma in Spain. As Spain
GM, you will lead and manage local sales and marketing teams, and
establish and lead the Madrid office
You will have to have drive
and hustle to get things done in the face of multiple barriers. You will
have to be data-driven to set and then manage to targets. You will have
to be creative and pragmatic in adapting the Karma expansion playbook
to the nuances of the Spain market. You will have to be able to manage
people from different teams and functions and yourself will have to be
an all-rounder, able to execute on sales, marketing, PR, finance,
operations and whatever else is needed for the success of the market
Your role will include:
- Hiring and leading local Sales and Marketing teams
- Establishing and leading the culture of the Karma Spain office
- Own P&L for Spain market
- Collaboration with Core teams in Sales, Marketing, Growth, Product, Design, Finance etc.
- Execution and adaption of Karma international expansion playbook
- Based in Madrid, with initial training and onboarding in Sweden, and
occasional subsequent travel to Sweden (e.g every 1-2 months)
The Ideal Candidate
Your background and previous experience
- Demonstrated operational experience (e.g. 2-3 years at start-up)
- Experience managing team of 5+ people
- Demonstrated analytical expertise (e.g. 2-3 years in technology company, consulting, banking, etc.)
- Experience in hiring and managing teams across functions, especially sales and marketing
- Experience in a high growth consumer-facing startup
- Experience in setting and managing a budget
- Fluent in English and Spanish
