About us
Rekomendo is a Dutch/Spanish start-up with a fresh approach to managing
communities of professionals that are rewarded for making
recommendations.
We are looking for an experienced professional
that is looking at joining a winning team, a personality to bring new
levels of innovation and delivery. We are at the point where we need to
take a good look at our current stack and evolve the architecture of key
components.
You will be part of an agile team that requires
fast validation based on data driven experiments. You will work together
with freelancers and remote workers that you need to manage. You will
be responsible for the quality of the developed code and for putting
that code into production while keeping it healthy. It’s an exciting
time here and we’re having a lot of fun while working with good and
smart people. The team works with the paradigm that if you build it, you
run it, and if you break it, you fix it.
Our stack
The components are written in Node.JS (backend) with a Javascript
(REACT) frontend. For mobile devices, we currently limit ourselves to
responsive design but at a later stage plan to use either full native or
REACT native.
We use Digital Ocean for our hosting with
continuous integration using circle CI and deployment using Docker
Cloud. Code repository is in Github. For bugfixing we use Jira for the
devs, and visual bugtracker Bugherd for non-devs. Designs are developed
in Sketch and exported to Zeplin to facilitate working on front-end.
Communication is mainly done through #Slack since most people are
remote, using google drive and dropbox for file sharing, and Zoom for
group meetings.
For the CMS component we now use Firebase and
Amazon S3 to store images as a CDN. Backend admin side is dealt with
using Forest.
All these components can change if we move to
either an open source E-commerce backend, or stick with custom
development. This will be one of the tasks for you to decide on.
Other integrations: Intercom, Mixpanel, GTM, and Sendgrid (for transactional emails).
RequirementsWe expect our ideal candidate to be/have- Reliable, hard-working, high integrity, positive/can-do attitude, creative problem-solving approach.
- Excellent communication skills, part of the team works in Spain and parts in Ukraine. Stand-ups take place through Zoom.
- B2 level English, leadership qualities and a work hard/play hard attitude are part of your DNA.
- Knowledge of Spanish is considered a plus.
- Ability
to be the interface between business, design, and different devs.
Pragmatic projectmanagement approach to get things done.
- You must have a valid visa / work permit for Spain. The position is based in Barcelona.
Technical Requirements- Experienced in React
- 2-3 years of professional Javascript (Node.js) development experience in SaaS/cloud based environments
- Experienced in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Experienced in developing distributed systems and RESTful web/cloud services.
- Experienced in MongoDB, DynamoDB, SQL .
- Experienced in Git version control.
- Experienced in Mocha tests.
Plus- Experienced in Continous integration (Jenkins, Circle CI ... etc)
- Experienced in Android/IOS Development
- Experienced in React Native
