kids’ entertainment and dedicated Arabic content to subscribers in the

Purpose
As
SmartTV Developer you will be at the cutting edge of how media and
technology interact. Your primary role will be to deliver a superb user
experience by executing a product roadmap and maintaining highly
engaging and interactive SMART TV, game console and STB apps.
Success
in this position will require designing and implementing key parts of
the SMART TV and game console applications (including Samsung TV, LG TV,
Playstation 4 and more) and collaborating closely with the UX design
and product management teams to define innovative UI and functionalities
optimized for SMART TV platforms.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related discipline
- 6+ years’ professional experience developing web-based solutions and services
- Extensive hands-on development experience using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AJAX, JSON, and jQuery
- Good
knowledge of performance and memory optimizations, proficient usage of
the tools available in SDKs and excellent debugging skills for big
screen platforms
- Sound knowledge of VOD, live streaming, and DRM. Experience in the TV industry (IPTV, Connected TVs, OTT services) is a plus.
- Proven track record in having delivered apps for SmartTVs (LG, Samsung, and Sony), PlayStation, Chromecast, Xbox One is a plus as well as knowing the common pitfalls in manufacturer QA processes.
- Good project planning and estimation experience
- Exposure to Agile, Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development.
- Good command of English
Bonus Experience
- System/solution architect experience in building SDK solutions to target big screen devices.
- Experience integrating open source or 3rd party API’s and Libraries (analytics suites, etc.)
- Server-side scripting skills (PHP, Java, Node.js) also beneficial
- Bitbucket / Git for source code management.
