Vacancy Overview

We have an immediate position for an enthusiastic firmware developer to join
our young multicultural team in Paris France.

At MainTool, we’ve developed the world’s first smart straps for classic watches
that give traditional timepieces the same features as today’s best wearables.
Our vision is to seamlessly connect everyday things already part of people’s
everyday lives. MainTool has done over 3 years of R&D and has multiple
patents in the field of wearable technology.

You will be qualified to have a degree in a relevant discipline and have some
experience or projects to show in the field of connected devices. An ideal
candidate will understand aspects of hardware design as well.

Primary Role
Working with the technical team to develop the current firmware and creating
new firmware from scratch for future products.

Responsibilities
Managing the firmware development for a Bluetooth Low Energy
connected smart strap.

Adding new high-level functionalities to the firmware.

Optimizing resources and power usage of the device.

Working with the technical team on the testing strategy (FW / iOS and
Android mobile app / cloud solution).

Developing new firmware from scratch for our next products.

Required qualifications
Engineer with experience in embedded software development and good
notions in embedded electronics.

Mid to high-level in C programming language.

Knowledge of Bluetooth Low Energy protocols.

Being capable of developing low-level drivers for diverse peripherals.

Knowledge of ARM processor architecture.

Being capable to create a firmware architecture from scratch.

Basic notions of Git version control system.
Ideally, you will have at least begun your fourth year of engineering
school.
