Alpha is looking for a world-class Electrical Engineer to join our latest Moonshot.
Alpha Energy wants to bring electricity to the 2.7Billion
people around the world that have poor or no access to it. We want to
bring them power and raise their prosperity and quality of life. We want
to turn the way electricity is distributed upside down, democratize
energy, and enable people to build their own energy networks from the
bottom-up.
The first challenge is bringing together an awesome
multi-disciplinary team to help launch this new Moonshot. This is your
chance to be a founding part of a well-backed team with a mission to
change the world.
We are looking for someone to design, build and prototype radically new solutions for power distribution.
We’re looking to you to…
Design the first iterations of the products that will make Alpha Energy a reality
Prototype early and often to prove out engineering concepts
Design new and modified products that are cost effective and designed for manufacturing
Coordinate PCB and mechanical design with external printed circuit board fab vendors
Perform Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP) to quickly develop embedded software solutions
Detailed
design and analysis of power conditioning equipment associated with
power supplies, frequency converters and multi-level converters
Work closely with multi-disciplinary groups including Product Design and Software Engineering
You’ve got…
A mid-to-senior level of experience in product engineering, microcontrollers, power electronic, etc.
You’re a hacker type excited about doing the early proof-of-concept and early design work.
Knowledge of distributed energy and networking, IoT and communication protocols
You’ve
got a great understanding of microcontroller firmware development and
can seamlessly transition from hardware to firmware.
Knowledge of current manufacturing techniques for power products
We
are looking for a maverick with mid-to-senior level experience, a
design degree, and a track record littered with impressive successes in
the market and some really smart failures
Understanding of Control Theory
You’re motivated by making the world a better place, for real. By
making a positive impact on society and by improving people’s lives.
This is about solving really hard problems - not about making cool
things. You could personally have an effect on millions of people’s
lives. Are you up to the challenge?
