Job Description

As our Director of Technology & Business Operations, your mission is to help make the Player Support department as effective and efficient as possible by developing a premier multi-channel support experience for our players. You will have the responsibility for measuring the performance of the department, as well as defining the technology strategy and deliver against it, working with our tech teams, and leading our super clever Technology Team.

Your role within our Kingdom

Your role will set the strategy for our technology stack, identifying seriously clever ways to engage with millions of players in an efficient and innovative manner, working closely with our Engineering teams, external partners and suppliers to deliver improvements in our systems and tools. You will also be responsible for the business intelligence of the department to measure performance and drive a data-driven mindset within the teams. You will head a team of data scientists, business analysts and project managers who have the responsibility to think of creative solutions and delivery those ideas. Key responsibiltiies:
  • Working closely with Player Support Leadership, define and execute a Technology strategy targeting improved efficiency and effectiveness across all our support channels, systems and tools
  • Collaborating with Game Studio Leads to drive a player-centric mindset and work to align, implement and optimise in-game support technology
  • Own Business Intelligence for the department, facilitating monthly KPI reviews, and supporting reporting and analysis needs
  • Developing close relationships with our technology suppliers; understanding and influencing their roadmaps based on our needs and experiences
  • Creating and presenting business cases in support of new projects and initiatives
  • Engaging with our internal and external teams to implement improvements in our tech stack
  • Work with the rest of Player Support teams to identify areas of improvement, deliver the changes and measure the results
  • Responsible for the maintenance and operational stability of all interfaces, systems, tools, and databases required for Player Support to function

    Skills To Create Thrills
    • Proven business acumen with strategic and analytical capabilities, using data to drive strategy and business decisions
    • Technical expert on software development environments being able to understand technical challenges and opportunities, innovate and identify new trends
    • Ability to lead complex operational and strategic change initiatives
    • Prior experience in an environment with very short strategy implementations cycles such as e-commerce, online products/services or games would be advantageous, using Agile
    • Strong systematic and numeric capability
    • Vision and ability to see the bigger picture and translate it into innovative initiatives
    • Ability to manage, lead and inspire a highly skilled team
    • Be passionate about delivering cutting edge Customer Experience
    • Bonus points

      It’d also be a bit cool if you knew some of the below, even a little knowledge would help us out:
    • A background in Customer Service/Support/Experience
    • A Data / Math /Engineering background would be helpful.
    • A Change Management background would also be super awesome.
    • It also, of course, helps to have a love of gaming, and a background in the industry, but that’s not essential.
