Why JOOR:
What You’ll Do:
- Lead our Madrid engineering site, including local staff, remote staff, & contracts that report into the site
- Ensure alignment with the Engineering Mission, Vision & Values
- Develop existing teams, fostering and building on a high growth mindset that ensures rapid delivery along with high quality code, features & value streams.
- Own open headcount to continue to grow the site and layer staff appropriately
- Work collaboratively with leads and steering groups from across the engineering team to plan and execute the product & technical roadmaps
- Follow industry best practices and help define future patterns at JOOR as a key engineering leader
What We’re Looking For:
- Located in EMEA
- 3+ years experience as Manager or Director, with experience managing managers and leads through delegation and effective lean processes
- 3+ years experience directly managing groups of 15 or more engineers
- 8+ years of experience in the software engineering field
- Someone who is passionate about the success of the Business and does so by playing a counterpart to Product, driving engineering teams towards delivery, and ensuring engineering best practices advocating for debt and tooling where necessary to product effective throughput & morale
- Someone who is passionate about building a collaborative and energizing team culture that allows room for employee growth and engagement
- Experience in our stack is a strong plus! We use:
- Docker and Kubernetes from development to production
- Jenkins used for CI/CD
- Postgres database
- Helm, Terraform, and Ansible
- Applications leverage Django, GraphQL, Node, React, gRPC
- Streaming infrastructure using Apache Kafka
- Multi-cloud services across AWS and Google Cloud
